We’re pleased to say that our US retailer expansion is continuing. Velorbis is now available in the beautiful ‘Golden State’ of California on the USA’s glamorous West Coast.

Flying Pigeon, LA; a speciality retailer of ‘The world’s most beautiful city bikes’ has now added a selection of our iconic Velorbis bicycle models such as Dannebrog and Student Balloon, to its current product offering.

The classic bicycle trend is in full swing in the US as a key lifestyle accessory/fashion statement/green transport choice.  We look forward to equipping the stylish residents of California – and fellow bicycle lovers in other states – with a little bit of Copenhagen cycling culture; and spreading the chic cycling message nationwide.

Great news! Velorbis bicycles are now available as part of the UK Government’s Cycle To Work Scheme through various leading providers including Cyclescheme, On Your Bike (also known as c2w Support) and NHS Direct.

Cycle To Work is a government initiative and excellent tax-free scheme designed to get employees cycling to work, thus reducing dependency on cars. Employers can purchase bicycles for their employees at a discounted rate and reclaim the tax (VAT). The cost of each bicycle is deducted from employees’ pay via a salary sacrifice scheme.

Velorbis is definitely feeling in the mood for spring, and what better way to celebrate the arrival of better weather than introducing some stunning new bicycle colours to our Student & Studine range.

The colours – glossy spring tones of ivory and army green – are rich, fresh shades with an air of exclusivity and sophistication.

Velorbis Studine Balloon, inspired by our Scrap Deluxe ladies top model, presents a delicately delicious touch of vanilla and caramel; or vanilla and cream, with its crisp ivory frame and brown (standard) or cream (optional)* balloon tyres.  Student Balloon, the gents version, is now available in army green – the tone of which is not stark but slightly faded in true military chic style. Matched with brown (standard) or cream (optional)* balloon tyres; it conveys an old school 70’s vibe.  

The rims are also powder coated to match the frame colour, for added distinction and colour coordination.

Velorbis recently took part at the Cycle Chic Fashion Show at Cork City Hall, Ireland; the event where cycling, fashion and design were entwined as one concept.

The Cycle Chic Fashion Show, held annually during Design Week in Ireland, effectively showcased cycling culture and highlighted just how practical, green and affordable cycling is as a green transportation option. It reflected the spirit and street style from the cycling capitals of the world such as Copenhagen where cycling is an integrated part of everyday life and an essential accessory for contemporary, healthy living.  

On display was a selection of Velorbis bicycle treats: our fire-engine red Dannebrog classic ladies bike, funky Scrap Deluxe ladies bicycle and our urban retro Churchill Balloon gents bike with brown Fat Frank tyres.

The influence and popularity of chilled-out cycle culture, carbon conscious travel and urban commuting is growing amongst the environmentally aware, fashion-forward people of Ireland. Velorbis is catering for this demand by linking up with Thinkbike, the new Velorbis dealer in Dublin, Ireland.

Velorbis is Copenhagen Cyclery’s flagship bicycle brand. Our luxurious range of Velorbis  design icons: classic bicycles, balloon bikes, retro transport bikes and fun cargo trikes can now be bought online via Copenhagen Cyclery’s newly launched website www.copenhagenbike.com, at their Chicago store and soon in select shops throughout the US.

The name, Copenhagen Cyclery, is inspired by the pioneering and world-renowned Copenhagen cycling culture, as well as the city’s reputation for and appreciation of great design. A perfect match for Velorbis who also share this philosophy.
