Velorbis bicycles were part of a historic day in Copenhagen politics when Denmark's first ever female prime minister, Helle Thorning-Schmidt met with the Queen to ask to form a government. All ministers from the Liberal party - De Radikale Venstre - who are part of Denmark's new coalition government, decided to arrive in style at the Queen's residence on Velorbis Victoria Classic ladies and Velorbis Churchill Classic gents bicycles. It was an entrance to remember and highlights perfectly the chic cycling culture that Danes of all professions and walks of life hold close to their hearts as part of their everyday lifestyles. The new government has announced that it will integrate green policies as a main element of their administration in order to make Copenhagen even more bicycle friendly.

Velorbis was delighted to take part in Copenhagen Fashion Week this year. We are delighted to unveil to you the world’s strongest basket that can carry up to 15kgs/33lbs, based on our new invention – the unique FrameFix mounting bracket (patent pending).  FrameFix provides the inner core strength that enables all bicycle baskets to maximise their load capacity without compromising steering ability and balance.

The Velorbis team started a design mission a while ago – studying stylish female Copenhagen cyclists and listening to their issues and needs. We found that cyclists wanted versatile and stabile storage on two wheels so they could safely carry a couple of shopping bags and a handbag and be able to chat on their mobile phones, for example – and look good at the same time.

We also found that current baskets on the market are often too small and are fitted to the handlebars on bicycles, which affects the steering and balance when the basket is full and when turning. Our design team therefore rethought the whole mounting system. Like the popular front carriers on Velorbis gents bicycles, our FrameFix bracket invention attaches to the head tube instead of the handlebars, so that the accompanying basket remains in a fixed position whenever elegantly manoeuvring through traffic, providing extra strength and stability when cycling.

Now you can multi-task on two wheels – such as carrying extra shopping bags, a pet dog, gifts, and flowers, etc. – and look super-stylish, of course.

We have received this fantastic review by Helen Pidd in The Guardian UK, who has been cycling around her new home town of Berlin on one of our effortlessly chic Velorbis Victoria Balloon bicycles.
